19/07/2008 11:03 Rosicky To Miss Start Of Season Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has conceded defeat in his bid to recover from injury in time for

Although it is certainly not the most welcome of news, it will hardly come as a surprise to Arsenal fans as the Czech star had recently expressed concern that his problematic knee injury would not clear up in time.

"I know I'll miss the start of the club season," Rosicky said to Czech daily Sport. "According to plans I should be back on the field in September."

Rosicky has not played since aggravating his problem knee during a FA Cup match against Newcastle in January, having missed the Gunners' run-in last season as well as Euro 2008.

Arsenal kick off their campaign on August 16th at home to newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion
